An ancient custom for stopping an epidemic is to hold a Chupa for orphan brides and grooms in the Cemetery. During these Corona times, a number of such Chupas took place in cemeteries troughout Israel, as a continuation of this ancient custom. 

In the painting, the bride, who rises from the dust, is seen as a metaphor for the Holy Shechina and the Knesset of Israel, marching towards the Redemption, represented by the Chupa, located between tombstones – to express that out of mourning, bereavement and loss, salvation will eventually grow.
