The young girl, Emily Hand, was held captive by Hamas in Gaza for 50 days. The artwork includes the items that were dear to Emily and symbolic of her return. In the background are the pajamas she wore from October 7th onwards, which she did not remove throughout her captivity. The teddy bear with which she was photographed upon her return to the warmth of her family. The cake with the number 9 with which her family celebrated her birthday in Ireland while she was still in captivity in Gaza, and the calendar that  represents the day of her return. The various items together create a complex mosaic of the orphaned girl who returned from captivity, from the darkness of the tunnels to the joyful light of her loving family
