In the drawing, my hand is seen holding the portrait I drew of my late grandmother, to whom I felt very connected. My grandmother represents for me the rich heritage of Yemenite Jews. My hand symbolizes the aspiration to create a better future from the heritage of the past. Through our connection to the past, we can build the future.
