Home is a stable concept by nature, yet it undergoes changes shaped by time and place.
Artist Rachel Stern explains:
“Through the shutters, the home in which we raised our children is hinted at—a place of memories and longing, successes and challenges. A home that held within it 33 years of vibrant life.

Inside the house, large pots rest on a hot plate. This part of the artwork depicts the home we moved to—with much hesitation—in order to be closer to our grown children who had built families of their own.

Our home became a gathering place for our expanding family, now blessed with wonderful grandchildren.

May God grant us the strength to continue giving and hosting, to support and rejoice in their joy for many more years to come.”
