The artwork expresses my spiritual roots and the essence of my life. Different symbols describing my parents are depicted in the artwork. The chair is the actual chair of my late mother, on which she sat throughout her later years. I was fortunate to inherit it after her death. When I sit on this chair, I feel embraced by my mother's hands, memories, and longing. On the chair rests the book written about my late father, describing all the chapters of his life interwoven with great acts of kindness. The book accompanies, strengthens, and inspires all of us. My family's root, from my father's side, is tied to Chassidut Vizhnitz for many generations, and my father owed his spiritual life to the Vizhnitzer Rebbe. The cup placed on the chair is the famous cup of Vizhnitz Chassidut in the shape of an apple on a rounded stem. My parents accepted me with much love and unconditionally, always coming towards me and treating me kindly. The blanket placed on the back of the chair expresses the boundless warmth and giving of my parents who enveloped me in a feeling of acceptance and love. In the background I painted the place of resting of the late Rebbetzin Sheina Rachel, the first Rebbitzin of Bohosh from Romania. My father was very connected to her grandson, the Bohosher Rebbe. I was named after her since I was born on the anniversary of her passing. Following the creation of this artwork, I traveled to her tomb in Romania to commemorate her on my birthday, which is the anniversary of her passing. The painting includes visual elements that deeply touch my soul root.
