Two weeks before the outbreak of the war, we were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, after two sweet boys. We named her "Shaked", meaning "Almond". The almond tree grows  forever. I was inspired to create this artwork by the poet Zelda's reflection on the deep and mysterious significance of trees. The tree can hide secrets in its trunk, and it is blessed with simplicity and charm.The tree has vitality and growth. A tree symbolizes the ability to renew, throughout the transition of seasons of the year, from the period of shedding leaves and gathering the fruits, to blossoming and renewed fruiting. A tree symbolizes hope, eternity, deep roots, and connection to the earth. The almond tree, in particular, symbolizes diligence in that it blooms specifically in the midst of the cold winter, when the skies are gray and all other trees are still bare. The almond tree has deep roots relative to the size of the tree itself, symbolizing a special connection to the earth. In this artwork, I chose to include real trees, from which 1500 almond blossoms made of porcelain are blooming, in memory of the victims of October 7th, expressing hope for a better future.
